Battle Chess is a strategy video game developed by Interplay Entertainment, released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988. Combining traditional chess mechanics with animated battles, players engage in two modes: versus another player or against the computer set at three difficulty levels. Each chess piece moves according to standard rules while executing dynamic animations during captures. Battle Chess is a fighting and strategy game. The game was released by Interplay Entertainment on the Nintendo platform in 1988. The game has two main modes: playing against other players or playing against the computer. In computer play mode, players can choose from three basic levels: easy, medium and hard. Basically, the gameplay of traditional chess is applied to Battle Chess. The game starts with 32 pieces on the table, each side owns 16 pieces. There are a total of 35 battle scenes for each different chess piece. For example, a rock monster will destroy the pawn by hitting its head or Queen will be eaten by a rook if it falls into attack range.
