CrossFire is a side-scrolling action game developed for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Unlike its American counterpart which is a top-down shooter, this version features a single-plane format similar to Contra, combined with brawler elements. Players navigate through various levels, utilizing weapons and combat techniques to defeat enemies and advance through the game.
Despite sharing a name with the American release of Super Airwolf and sharing a publisher, CrossFire is a very different game; whereas the Genesis game is a top-down Commando-style run-and-gun, the Famicom game is a single-plane side-scroller, more akin to Contra with brawler implements.
