Mortal Kombat II Special for the Nintendo Entertainment System is a modification of the original Mortal Kombat II, aimed at recreating its classic experience on the platform. It features original character and stage palettes, corrections to spelling, and enhancements such as the appearance of the MK dragon symbol after victories. Notably, Goro’s name is reverted to Kintaro, albeit resized to fit the screen.
This hack (sort of) recreates the original Mortal Kombat 2 feeling in a NES form.
Features:
- all the original palettes for the characters and stages + the 'MORTAL II KOMBAT' logo has its original palette as well
- 'DIVFICULTY' is now changed to 'DIFFICULTY'
- after winning now an MK dragon symbol appears at the top-left/top-right corner of the screen
- Goro's name is changed back to Kintaro (but it is squished due to space limit + thus, Shao Kahn's name is squished as well to fit them together)
