Super Mario Bros.: SMB1 and a Fresh Coat of Paint

This is a graphical romhack for Super Mario Bros. It intends to upgrade the visuals without straying too far from the source material, giving the whole game a fresh look. All the graphics are original, though based on the source graphics.

This romhack of Super Mario Bros. for the NES is intended to
be a full visual replacement of nearly every graphic and tile
in the game. The goal of this hack, which started out in 2019,
was to enhance the visual style of the game without destroying
the foundational art.

In this spirit, every sprite has been altered just enough so it
feels brand new. All graphics are original and were done in
Aseprite.

Note that a majority of the metatiles are changed to add details,
so this may or may not work with other romhacks.
(I'm not too sure on how this works since I'm still a beginner)
