Epic Games has officially launched Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch 2, just in time for the console's global debut tomorrow. This updated version promises a significantly improved experience compared to its predecessor on the original Switch. However, it's worth noting that the ever-popular Save the World mode is still absent, as the FAQ clearly states that it won’t be part of the offering on the Nintendo Switch 2. Here's what gamers can look forward to:
- A smooth 60 FPS gameplay!
- Enhanced resolution: 2176x1224 when docked, and 1600x900 when handheld.
- Expanded view distances—spot more details in the distance!
- Improved graphics with better textures, shadows, and stunning water rendering. (Gorgeous water effects!)
- Dynamic clothing physics for your characters.
- The Replay feature enables you to revisit your epic Battle Royale moments from a new angle!
- Capture your greatest victories using the Capture button.
- GameChat* support allows streaming your Fortnite sessions alongside three friends!
- For the tech-savvy types: the full “desktop” rendering setup, detailed geometry, ambient occlusion, shadow-casting point lights, and high-quality effects available in docked mode.
- Mouse controls coming soon with Joy-Con 2! (Available starting June 7)
