Zynga has announced the bittersweet news that its fee-to-play title, Star Wars Hunters, will be bidding farewell in October. This arena-based shooter, beloved by many, will cease operations across all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. The company expressed that this “decision was not made lightly,” emphasizing how much the player community has meant to them. A schedule of events has been laid out, with Season 5 being extended by an additional three weeks starting March 25th, and the final content update arriving for all players on April 15th. The game will officially shutter on October 1st. Here's a heartfelt message from the development team:
“Thank you for your incredible support and for being part of the world of Vespaara. After careful consideration, we want to let you know that the final content update for Star Wars: Hunters on all platforms will be on April 15th. The game will remain playable until October 1st, 2025, when the game’s online servers will be shut down.”
“We understand this news may be disappointing and want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly,” they continued. “Your passion and dedication to the game and its community have meant the world to us, and we are committed to providing visibility and updates throughout the transition process.”
Mark your calendars for these crucial dates:
March 25th, 2025 – Season 5 will see a three-week extension, featuring a re-run of events and store bundles from the season, along with an extended Ranked Season to give players more opportunities to ascend to the Kyber 1 rank.
April 15th, 2025 – The much-anticipated final content update will be released at no charge, and in-game purchases will be disabled across all platforms. Players will be introduced to the new Support Hunter, Tuya, who joins the fray as part of this last update. Tuya will be available instantly for free, alongside a host of new in-game content. A final Ranked Mode leaderboard will be initiated, allowing players to compete in various battlefields and game modes.
October 1st, 2025 – The online servers will shut down, marking the end of Star Wars: Hunters, and it will no longer be playable thereafter.
