For gamers itching to immerse themselves in the Gex Trilogy on the new Nintendo Switch 2, disappointment looms as it currently fails to function on this latest hardware. Limited Run Games has acknowledged the dilemma, and as a precautionary measure, they have requested that Nintendo temporarily remove the game from the eShop until a patch can be rolled out. Here’s the latest update from Limited Run Games on X.
Nintendo updated the Switch 2 firmware last night and we’re thrilled to share that this has resolved the backwards compatibility issues affecting most of our Carbon Engine titles! While we don't have clarity on the GEX Trilogy fix, we submitted our patch last week. Due to the Juneteenth holiday, approval is delayed this week, but we anticipate issuing the patch early next week!
In the interim, we've asked Nintendo to take the game down from the Switch 2 eShop. We appreciate your patience as we collaborate with Nintendo to rectify these issues! Here’s the complete list of games that are now compatible with the Switch 2 following the latest update:
- Clock Tower: Rewind
- Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection
- Tomba! Special Edition
- River City Girls Zero
- A Boy and his Blob Collection
- Rocket Knight Adventures
- Shantae
- Bill & Ted’s Excellent Retro Collection
- Xtreme Sports
- Trip World DX
- Felix the Cat
- Rendering Ranger R-2: Rewind
Stay tuned for the latest updates on Switch compatibility with the Nintendo Switch 2!
