Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Hits Version 3.0.4: What’s New in This Must-Play Update?

Nintendo has rolled out an exciting new update for the beloved Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch, elevating the game to Version 3.0.4. This latest patch aims to address a handful of pesky glitches, making your karting experience even smoother. Notably, it focuses on refining the Music Park track from the Nintendo 3DS and the iconic Rainbow Road from the Nintendo 64. Here's a breakdown of what this update brings:

Latest Update: Ver. 3.0.4 (Released May 13, 2025)

General Enhancements
  • The update corrects an issue in “3DS Music Park” during Time Trials where repeatedly accessing the pause menu would cause the timing of the bouncing ‘notes’ to become unsynchronized with the background music. Although there may still be some timing discrepancies when pausing the game, the notes will now sync correctly during ghost data playback.
  • Players should be aware that ghost data created in Version 3.0.3 or earlier for “3DS Music Park” cannot be uploaded.
  • Any problematic ghost data may be removed from “Online Ghosts” without warning.
  • The update has also resolved a quirky issue where coins tossed by spectators would vanish before landing on the track in “N64 Rainbow Road.”
