Nintendo has made a notable move by refreshing its patent from 2023, showcasing an intriguing concept of a detachable second screen for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, along with new images that have surfaced. While it’s common for Nintendo to file numerous patents—most of which never see the light of day—this particular update sparks curiosity among fans.
The patent reveals a design where the two halves of the screen are linked by a connector reminiscent of the Joy-Con interface, now featuring an innovative hinge mechanism. Notably, the top half is equipped with its own shoulder buttons. The big question remains: will this patent translate into a tangible product, or will it fade into yet another concept? Only time will tell.
