Nintendo Switch 2 Breaks Records in Launch Week

In a staggering display of popularity, the Nintendo Switch 2 flew off the shelves, selling over 3.5 million units globally in just four days following its launch on June 5. This remarkable feat marks it as the fastest-selling Nintendo system to date!

The new Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a stunningly large display capable of full 1080p high-definition graphics and even 4K resolution when connected to a compatible TV. Powered by a speedy processor, it ensures enhanced visuals and smooth gameplay. Plus, the revamped Joy-Con 2 controllers now come equipped with mouse functionality for an enriched gaming experience. One of the standout features is GameChat, enabling players to voice or video chat and share screens with friends online, making it feel as if everyone is gaming together, no matter the distance.

“Fans around the world are showing their enthusiasm for Nintendo Switch 2 as an upgraded way to play at home and on the go,” shared Doug Bowser, President and COO of Nintendo of America. “We are grateful for their response and thrilled to see the joy they are experiencing with Nintendo Switch 2 as they discover new features and games that connect friends and family in innovative ways.”

Launching alongside the system is Mario Kart World, introducing players to a first-of-its-kind interconnected world that allows racing across cities, plains, deserts, and even oceans! With dynamic weather effects, new gaming modes, and support for up to 24 racers at once, this is the biggest multiplayer experience in Mario Kart history.

To further fuel the excitement, a brand-new 3D platformer starring Donkey Kong will launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 next month. Donkey Kong Bananza invites players into a chaotic adventure filled with smashing and bashing, relaxing on July 17.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is now available for a suggested retail price of $449.99, or as a bundle that includes a digital download of the full Mario Kart World game for $499.99.
