Update: It appears the excitement may have been a bit premature! IGN has recently updated their article to clarify the pre-order date previously mentioned was an error. Fear not, as we’ll keep you posted on the actual date once it’s confirmed. Our apologies for any confusion!
Nintendo had initially set its sights on launching pre-orders for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 in North America starting April 9th. However, due to the revocation of global tariffs by Donald Trump, the company opted to postpone these pre-orders. Fast forward to the present, and we have some fresh news: the My Nintendo Store is gearing up to send out pre-order invitations specifically to select Nintendo Switch Online members, with emails expected to land in inboxes on May 8th. Other retailers are likely to join the pre-order frenzy around that time, following a similar pattern observed in other regions.
“The first batch of invitations will go out starting May 8, 2025, with additional batches of invitation emails sent periodically until purchasing on My Nintendo Store is opened to everyone.”
