Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - Playable Old Axe Armor Hack is a ROM hack for the Nintendo DS that allows players to control the Old Axe Armor character from Portrait of Ruin in Julius Mode. This mod replaces Alucard with the Axe Armor, retaining most of its moves from the original game and introducing new abilities. Version 1.2 offers customizable color palettes and unlocks Julius Mode from the start. Players can also enjoy various gameplay enhancements and adjustments.
This is a very simple hack for Dawn of Sorrow that replaces Alucard in Julius Mode with Old Axe Armor from Portrait of Ruin (though Alucard is the one inside the armor ^^;). The Axe Armor has every move it had in PoR, minus the Martial Arts, but he has two new moves he can perform to compensate
Julius Mode is unlocked from the start in this hack so that you don't have to worry about going through Soma Mode, and now you meet with Old Axe Armor in the top-left room near the starting room on the map
Now in version 1.2 you'll be able to choose between three color palettes for the Old Axe Armor to your liking; Rondo of Blood (RoB), Portrait of Ruin (PoR), and Harmony of Despair (HoDes)

- Taunt Attack (Hold Up, active hitbox on the axe, Strike)

- You start with the Tower Key in your inventory
- Julius' Vampire Killer whip now deals Strike/Holy damage
- Julius' uppercut has been restored to be a proper High Jump
