Final Fantasy III: Shadow's Status is a patch for the Super Nintendo version of Final Fantasy III, addressing a status effect bug encountered with the character Shadow. Specifically, it ensures that Shadow's status effects are cleared before his confrontation in the Dragon's Neck Colosseum, following his departure during the battle against Atma Weapon. The patch is compatible with both headered and non-headered ROMs.
If you're like me, you cast Float on Shadow right before the battle with Atma Weapon (so he won't be affected by the Quake spell). However, you may be shocked to discover that when you eventually find him in the Dragon's Neck Colosseum, he's still Floating. That's because the game doesn't remove any of the status effects he is given between the Floating Continent and the Colosseum. This patch makes the game removes those statuses after you wait for him.

PURPOSE:
Just before you confront Gestahl and Kefka on the Floating Continent, Shadow leaves the party. Between this moment and your encounter with Shadow at Dragon's Neck Colosseum, the programmers neglected to remove Shadow's status effects at the end of the battle with Atma Weapon. This patch fixes that issue.
